We Are Made For His Pleasure

John 1:1-3 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”

It’s only in recent decades, with the advancement of technology and science, that we have begun to see things that human eyes never saw before. Through high-powered microscopes and telescopes we have a window on a world hitherto unobserved by human beings.  From the vast expanse of the macro world with all its untold, and unseen countless stars, to the micro world of molecules and atoms, our eyes were closed to the awesome wonders of God’s creation.  But even yet, we are just beginning to realise that there is so much more to discover of God’s amazing creation still unobserved. The largest unexplored region on earth is the ocean depths. There is life there we have never yet seen. Creatures live where we never thought was possible to live, in underground caves where no ray of light has ever penetrated.  There are flowers that bloom in desert places, where no one lives to enjoy their beauty.

Only fifteen years ago Tarantula’s were found high up in the Peruvian Andes at nearly 15,000 feet, this was an unexpected revelation. Why? Why would God have such an abundance of creatures, life forms, and incalculable numbers of stars in the universe, where most human beings will never see them? What’s the point? If they are not for our eyes then whose eyes where they made for?

The Bible tell us clearly why they were made and whose eyes they were for to look upon. Speaking of Jesus Christ, Paul writes in Colossians 1:16For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him, AND FOR HIM.” Rev.4:11 (KJV) “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for THY PLEASURE they are and were created.”

Every star in the universe, every blade of grass, every flower petal, every molecule, every atom, every living creature, where all made for His eyes to see and to give Him pleasure. Since that is true how much more pleasure does He see, and feel, with us, the crown of all His creation?

Isaiah 40:26 “Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things, who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power; not one is missing.” He who names and numbers the stars, so not one of them is missing, is the One who numbers the hairs on your head.

Romans 11:36For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.” You and I were made to give Him pleasure.
