HOME GROUPS
It is often said that in most churches 80 percent of the work is done by 20 percent of the people. Much of it is left to the paid staff and a few volunteers. Cell life is designed to change that mentality. Within every Church there is an amazing variety of giftings within the Body of Christ. Many times there are no opportunities given to discover or express these God given talents. In Cell life you have a 'nursery' for emerging gifts. Each person in a cell has a unique contribution to make, they have a wonderful opportunity to enrich the lives of fellow believers.
Cells and Celebration go together. They are two sides of the same coin. Our corporate gatherings on a Sunday provide a context for worship and preaching that a small group cannot do. However, the cell-group midweek home gatherings also provide a dynamic for intimate worship, practical teaching and fellowship which the larger meetings can never do.
Some key values of Cell life..
• Christ in the midst
• Christ must be at the heart of every cell. His presence produces power, draws us into worship, makes the Word real and forms the D.N.A. of each cell-group.
• The Whole Body
• Involvement of each person is vital to the life of each cell. All have something to share, all can contribute no matter how young or old.
• Discipleship
• The goal of every believer should be to mature in Christ. Cells provide an environment to study and develop together. Practical teaching and accountability helps us to grow in grace.
• Community Living
• Life is about relationships. God made us family. The early Church was noted for its love and care towards one another. The Cell Group provides a context for caring, support, building relationships and true fellowship.
• Multiplication
• All living cells multiply, whether physical or spiritual. Reaching out to new people is absolutely vital to the future life of each cell. Jesus was called a friend of publicans and sinners. Too often small-groups become navel-gazing clubs for bored believers. Person to person evangelism is still the most successful way of reaching the lost.
