CONNECT - Summertime is always a busy time in MPC, with our family fun day and in-house concert. For the last three years our church has been getting more involved in the community, providing festivals, fun days, pantomime's, concerts, day trips for the elderly and so on. All of these events needed a name, by which the people in the community could identify. Connect Community Projects was launched this summer to provide that point of connection with the community as we venture into new projects in the near future.
Our Family Fun Day was held in the Moira Demesne on the 7th July, attracting around 500 and growing each year. That evening was the launch night of CCP, beginning with live music, then a video about CCP. Our dance group performed throughout the evening and our guests from the Ukraine brought some drama and music to the stage.
UKRAINE - Each year a team from our church visit The Well of Living Waters church in Izmail, Ukraine. This year people from MPC sponsored to bring them to Northern Ireland. Twenty of our friends were able to come and visit, arriving on the 2nd July and leaving on the 9th, it was a great week together. As well as being involved in the launch off CCP, they still had time to see the sights, from the Giants Causeway to Ice-skating, we tried to fit in as much as possible for them to make the most of their visit.
